A Fresh Take on Country Living

C. Raymond Davis & Sons recently completed a 7,500 sqft modern farmhouse situated on an idyllic preserved farmland property in Washington, NJ.

The homeowners' vision for the property (which had been in their family since the 1950's) was to demolish the existing farmhouse and build a low maintenance, functional dream home where they could semi-retire.

In addition to the myriad of challenges associated with building a high-end custom home during a global pandemic, this home was uniquely designed around a historic southern pecan tree, and extreme care had to be exercised throughout construction to avoid damaging the root system.

Built with an Energy Star approach, the home is equipped with a smart home system that controls shading, lighting, audio, and video surveillance systems; an emergency generator; lightning suppression; and commercial-grade electrical and Wi-Fi service.

Additional features include a floating staircase, white oak flooring, masonry fireplaces, custom cabinetry, a whiskey collection room, bluestone patios, steel balconies, a 2-car garage, and a residential elevator.

The home was designed by Ralph C. Fey, AIA Architects and won Best Residential Project $1-5 Million in the Associated Builders and Contractors Eastern PA Chapter's 2022 Excellence in Construction Awards program.

“We could not have had a better, more highly qualified team to manage this complex project. We could not be more pleased with the work of C. Raymond Davis. Our house is magnificent—it brings us joy.”
