CRD Completes Expansion Project for Paoli Presbyterian Church

Church gathering space with kitchen and tables

We’re pleased to announce the recent completion of a beautiful expansion and renovation project for Paoli Presbyterian Church. The church's focus on fostering authentic relationships was the driving force behind their desire to create a comfortable space for the congregation to gather after services.

Working as Design-Builder in partnership with Cornerstone Design Architects, our team addressed this need by building an addition next to the sanctuary with a kitchen and seating area. We also opened up the corridor off the narthex to improve the flow of foot traffic into the new gathering area and maximize the functionality of the space.

To improve accessibility, we added a centrally located three-stop elevator in the gathering space and built an ADA accessible ramp to the platform in the sanctuary. The project also included sanctuary and bathroom renovations, new mechanical systems, and updated finishes in the narthex.

Despite unsuitable soil issues that required redesigning the foundation and long material lead times, our team completed this project under budget and six weeks early, just in time for the congregation to enjoy their new space for Easter.

In the end, our team brought value to the church by developing a solution that solved their problem and met their budget. The congregation now has a beautiful, welcoming, and functional space in which to fellowship.
