A Charming Lake House Refresh
We're pleased to share one of CRD Adirondacks’ recent projects, a renovation of a private waterfront residence on Lake George in Bolton Landing, New York.

Half of the home is more than one hundred years old, having been built in 1912. While previous updates were completed in 2000, the homeowners desired to further enhance the home to improve its comfort, functionality, and aesthetics while preserving its original charm.
The interior renovation included installing new flooring throughout much of the home, including over 2,100 sqft of hardwood, along with updated tile in the foyer and powder room.
The kitchen was refreshed with painted cabinetry, a new backsplash, upgraded lighting, and a custom-built wood bench that adds warmth and character to the breakfast nook.
Additional interior improvements included a full renovation of the powder room, refinishing the main staircase, installing a custom TV cabinet, and adding a new bluestone hearth. Lighting enhancements were made throughout, including repositioning chandeliers in the great room to better complement the space.
Exterior enhancements included a new asphalt shingle roof with copper accents, along with 40 new windows and a replaced exterior door—upgrades that improved both energy efficiency and long-term durability of the home.
Our team identified several strategic cost-saving opportunities for this project without compromising quality or aesthetics. By repairing structural headers, we were able to retain and reuse existing doors, avoiding unnecessary replacement. Similarly, refinishing the kitchen cabinetry rather than replacing it delivered meaningful savings while maintaining the home’s character.
The result is a refreshed yet timeless lakefront retreat that honors its original craftsmanship while providing the comfort and performance of a modern home.
"The best part of working with CRD is their people and subs. They are not only professional, but a pleasure to work with."
