CRD Earns National Honors from Associated Builders and Contractors
We are thrilled to announce that our work on a residential entertainment barn in Rumson, NJ, has earned us a national Excellence in Construction® Eagle Award, which was presented during ABC Convention 2025 in Las Vegas on Feb. 26.
The EIC awards recognized 96 of the nation’s top construction projects from 2024, honoring the most outstanding construction projects, such as upgrades and renovations to hospitals and constructing hydraulic stations, sports complexes, government buildings and airports.
Our award-winning project involved constructing a 6,415 sqft luxury entertainment barn, a 535 sqft garage outfitted as a pottery and jewelry studio, a tennis court, a zen garden, a custom greenhouse, and extensive landscaping.
Inspired by the timeless charm of traditional Pennsylvania stone barns, the design integrates contemporary elements to create an extraordinary entertaining space loaded with high-end finishes, technical features, artistic details, and custom furnishings.
The main floor of the barn features an open-concept layout with an elegant entry foyer, full kitchen, dining space for 20 guests, expansive living room with a 32-foot stone fireplace, a bathroom with a shower, and a lofted bunk room. The lower level includes a wine tasting room, game room, spa, and sauna.
The project was designed by Period Architecture with interiors by Ursino Interiors and landscape design by Hess Landscape Architects. The project also won first place in its category and was named Project of the Year in the ABC Eastern PA Chapter’s Excellence in Construction Awards competition.
“This project is the epitome of excellence, demonstrating quality, health, safety and innovation in our industry,” said 2025 Chair of the ABC National Board of Directors David Pugh, partner, Bradley, Birmingham, Alabama. “The teams at C. Raymond Davis & Sons are the best of the best in merit shop construction. The residential entertainment barn project is an industry-leading construction project, showing how members of ABC build projects safely, on time and on budget. It is an honor to congratulate C. Raymond Davis & Sons for showcasing the pinnacle of construction excellence.”
A panel of industry experts served as the competition’s judges. This year’s judges included representatives from Dick’s Sporting Goods, the Design-Build Institute of America, Engineering News-Record, Construction Owners Association of America, the National Institutes of Health, the National Institute of Building Sciences, the Smithsonian Institution and other select construction-related organizations nationwide.
